When the mirror script could not refresh in place, the agent wrote its own cleanup script based on an older copy of the project that held 7,332 files. A safeguard was supposed to protect linked directories, but it only checked the top-level junction folders, leaving everything nested beneath them exposed. The script removed 55,550 files outright; once the 7,332 files it managed to copy back from the old mirror are subtracted, the developer was left with a net loss of 48,218 files, including the .git objects, refs, and logs needed to recover anything.\n\nThis is not really a story about a rogue model. It is a story about running an agent with full filesystem access against a live project with no branch, no commit, and no off-machine backup.
