Bose's newest soundbar just hit its lowest price of the year.
The Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar, which replaces the Smart Ultra as the centerpiece of Bose's current home-theater lineup, is down to $844.99 from $1,099 on Amazon as October Prime Day deals wrap up. It's a big unit at 43.3 inches wide, packing nine drivers in a 5.0.2 layout that includes a dedicated center tweeter and two upward-firing speakers for Dolby Atmos height effects. Bose's app adds a three-band EQ and separate volume controls for the center, height, and surround channels. Connectivity is comparatively sparse: one HDMI eARC port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, and a subwoofer output, but no second HDMI passthrough, no aux jack, and no DTS support.
That last gap matters more than it sounds. A PCMag review found the soundbar's bass doesn't keep up with the rest of its sound profile and recommended adding a subwoofer, an extra cost Bose doesn't mention in the sale price. Buyers who want fuller bass without that add-on are better off with the Sonos Arc Ultra, also marked down to $899, which delivers deeper low end on its own, even though it carries the same single-HDMI, no-DTS limitations as the Bose.
Either way, the soundbar alone is just the entry point: matching speakers and a subwoofer are sold separately if you want to build Bose's fuller Lifestyle Ultra system.
