The Blink Outdoor 4 Floodlight Camera just dropped to $39.99 on Amazon, $60 off its usual $99.99 price.
Amazon cut the price ahead of October Prime Day, which runs October 6-7. The unit pairs a 1080p security camera with a motion-activated floodlight that puts out up to 700 lumens, enough to light a driveway or side yard. Both pieces run on batteries, four D-cell for the floodlight and two AA for the camera, and the camera connects over wifi, so installation doesn't depend on being near an outlet. It also has infrared night vision for monitoring after the floodlight switches off.
Price-tracking data shows this is the lowest the camera has gone, but the sticker price is only part of the math. Blink's subscription plans start at $3.99 a month per camera or $11.99 for unlimited devices, and that's what unlocks cloud storage, video history, and smarter alerts. Skip the subscription and you're stuck with a 30-day trial, or buying a separate Sync Module XR and microSD card for local storage the base package doesn't support.
It's the same model as Ring, whose cameras are also on sale this week: cheap hardware upfront, a recurring bill for the features you actually want.
