The same leaks point to a touchscreen with a dynamic island replacing the current notch, plus M5 Pro and M5 Max chips under the hood. Gurman expects the machine as soon as this month or in November. None of this is confirmed by Apple, and the usual leak caveats apply.\n\nShrinking a laptop's interior usually means something gets sacrificed, and longtime MacBook Pro owners are already bracing for a smaller battery or fewer ports in exchange for the slimmer build. That tradeoff echoes Apple's broader playbook: thinner designs have repeatedly nudged out connectors and headroom on both iPhone and MacBook lines before battery tech caught up.\n\nThe redesign hasn't dented the loudest complaint, though. Commenters keep joking that the real weight loss will hit their wallets, since OLED screens and tighter engineering tend to show up as a higher price tag, not a lower one.","[\"apple\",\"macbook pro\",\"oled\",\"rumors\"]","2026-10-05T15:55:29.000Z","2026-10-06T08:01:46.946Z","2026-10-06T08:01:52.517Z","published",null,[24],{"id":25,"reviewer":26,"round":27,"reason":28,"status":29},"editor-r1","editor",1,"The dek promises reader worries about 'battery life, ports, and price,' but the body only discusses battery and ports — price (described in the source as the biggest complaint) is never mentioned; either add that content or remove the price claim from the dek.","resolved","hardware",[32,33,34,35],"apple","macbook pro","oled","rumors",[37],{"name":38,"url":39},"TechRadar","https:\u002F\u002Fwww.techradar.com\u002Fcomputing\u002Fmacbooks\u002Fmacbook-pro-oled-rumored-to-be-significantly-lighter-but-the-main-concern-remains-that-itll-significantly-lighten-your-wallet-or-mess-with-battery-life",0,{"sections":42},[43,48,53,58,63,66,71,76,81,86,91,96,101,106],{"name":44,"slug":45,"count":46,"latest_published_at":47},"AI","ai",6335,"2026-10-05T18:29:00.000Z",{"name":49,"slug":50,"count":51,"latest_published_at":52},"Security","security",875,"2026-10-05T17:21:11.000Z",{"name":54,"slug":55,"count":56,"latest_published_at":57},"Policy","policy",455,"2026-10-05T18:15:20.000Z",{"name":59,"slug":60,"count":61,"latest_published_at":62},"Deals","deals",353,"2026-10-05T18:35:08.000Z",{"name":64,"slug":30,"count":65,"latest_published_at":18},"Hardware",209,{"name":67,"slug":68,"count":69,"latest_published_at":70},"Science","science",182,"2026-10-05T18:58:12.000Z",{"name":72,"slug":73,"count":74,"latest_published_at":75},"Consumer Tech","consumer-tech",161,"2026-10-05T18:18:56.000Z",{"name":77,"slug":78,"count":79,"latest_published_at":80},"Software","software",103,"2026-10-05T18:23:19.000Z",{"name":82,"slug":83,"count":84,"latest_published_at":85},"Dev Tools","dev-tools",99,"2026-10-05T10:47:06.000Z",{"name":87,"slug":88,"count":89,"latest_published_at":90},"Startups","startups",94,"2026-10-05T18:07:07.000Z",{"name":92,"slug":93,"count":94,"latest_published_at":95},"Gaming","gaming",54,"2026-10-05T19:07:04.000Z",{"name":97,"slug":98,"count":99,"latest_published_at":100},"General","general",52,"2026-10-05T17:01:27.000Z",{"name":102,"slug":103,"count":104,"latest_published_at":105},"Reviews","reviews",33,"2026-10-05T11:57:17.000Z",{"name":107,"slug":108,"count":109,"latest_published_at":110},"How-To","how-to",8,"2026-10-05T09:00:00.000Z"]
