Apple's next wave of small hardware just leaked, and one device hasn't been touched in four years.
Leaked images and details point to a refreshed iPad mini with an A20 Pro chip, a redesigned speaker, and a landscape front camera. The same leaks show a new HomePod mini in green and pink, along with evidence of a fourth-generation Apple TV 4K. Apple is expected to announce all three, plus a new operating system, in an October event. A separate leak also previewed specs for the 12th-generation iPad, though that model isn't expected until early next year.
The Apple TV update matters most: it's the first hardware change to the box in four years, an unusually long gap for a product Apple insists matters to its services push. Pairing that with refreshes to the iPad mini and HomePod mini suggests Apple is clearing out its smallest, most neglected product lines in one sweep rather than trickling out updates piecemeal.
None of this is confirmed by Apple, and leak season always looks tidier than the actual keynote does; if the pattern holds, though, this reads less like a flashy launch and more like Apple catching up on maintenance it let slide.
