Amazon has cut the large-size Apple Watch Ultra 4 to $699.99, down from $799, which matches the lowest price the watch has reached.
The listing shows a $99.01 saving, roughly 12%. The watch only launched in September, so the discount comes within about two months of release. It applies to the large size only, and because it ties the record low rather than beating it, this price has been seen before.
Battery life is the headline feature. Apple rates the Ultra 4 for up to 50 hours of normal use and up to 84 hours in Low Power Mode, a setting that trades some features for longer runtime. PCMag, which gave the watch an "Excellent" rating, recorded 74 hours in its own testing and called the result "jaw-dropping". The listing does not say what conditions PCMag used, so that number cannot be set directly against either of Apple's. It does put the watch at a little over three days on a charge.
The rest of the upgrade is quieter. The design and display are largely unchanged. The new S11 chip, Apple's processor, brings a Readiness Score that weighs recent activity, sleep and health data into a daily recommendation, plus updated heart-rate monitoring and step counting. The watch has cellular connectivity and dual-frequency GPS, which uses two signal bands to improve location accuracy.
That mix shapes who benefits from the deal. With the hardware look carried over, the case for the Ultra 4 rests on the chip, the software and the battery. That favors buyers coming to Apple's rugged line fresh, the group Apple is courting against outdoor watches from brands like Garmin. Whether $699.99 is the floor or just the first stop before Black Friday itself is the open question.
