The product list comes from Bloomberg, which reported that the company will announce new Macs and a refreshed iPad Mini. The headline item is expected to be a MacBook Pro with an OLED touchscreen. It is also said to be lighter than the current model and to include an iPhone-style Dynamic Island, the pill-shaped cutout that holds the front camera and sensors.

The rest of the expected slate: a 14-inch MacBook Pro, and a new iMac running the M6 chip, which Apple recently introduced with the Mac Mini. The iPad Mini is said to get an OLED screen too, with the selfie camera moved to the landscape edge, so it sits at the top when the tablet is held sideways.

If the reports hold, the notable part is the touchscreen. Apple has long kept touch input off the Mac and pushed it toward the iPad. A touch-enabled MacBook Pro would narrow that line, though none of this is confirmed until Apple says so on stage. The Dynamic Island, which debuted on the iPhone in 2022, would also be a visible design change for a laptop.

The M6 detail is worth tracking as well. Putting the chip in the iMac so soon after the Mac Mini suggests Apple is rolling it across the desktop and laptop lines in quick succession rather than in one batch.","["apple","macbook-pro","ipad-mini","oled"]","2026-10-19T16:04:29.000Z","2026-10-19T17:30:47.958Z","2026-10-19T17:30:48.158Z","published",null,[24,30
"editor-r1","editor",1,"Name Bloomberg as the source of the product rumors (the draft only says 'outside reporting'), clarify whether the 14-inch MacBook Pro is the same machine as the OLED touchscreen model, and drop 'than the current model' since the source says only 'lighter'.","resolved
"editor-r2",2,"The dek says Apple's invites point to new Macs and an iPad Mini, but the body says the invites carry no product list and that detail comes from Bloomberg, so fix the dek to attribute the product list to Bloomberg; also remove or support the unsourced claim that the invites carry no product list, and stop attributing 'overdue' framing to Bloomberg since that wording comes from The Verge.","consumer-tech",[36,37,38,39],"apple","macbook-pro","ipad-mini","oled",[41,44,47,50
The Verge","https://www.theverge.com/tech/1013028/apple-second-october-product-launch-announcement
Mashable","https://mashable.com/tech/apple-event-pro-and-tell-oct-28-announcement
PCMag","https://www.pcmag.com/news/apple-teases-macbook-pro-focused-event-for-oct-28th
MacRumors","https://www.macrumors.com/2026/10/19/apple-october-28-product-launch/",0
56,61,66,71,76,81,85,90,95,100,105,110,115,120
"AI","ai",7045,"2026-10-20T21:25:22.000Z
"Security","security",1021,"2026-10-20T20:25:00.000Z
"Policy","policy",552,"2026-10-20T22:20:11.000Z
"Deals","deals",538,"2026-10-20T20:17:07.000Z
"Hardware","hardware",272,"2026-10-20T22:38:24.000Z
"Consumer Tech",257,"2026-10-20T22:30:00.000Z
"Science","science",209,"2026-10-20T21:02:53.000Z
"Startups","startups",137,"2026-10-20T22:24:15.000Z
"Software","software",134,"2026-10-20T14:57:15.000Z
"Dev Tools","dev-tools",119,"2026-10-20T13:00:00.000Z
"General","general",89,"2026-10-20T21:30:24.000Z
"Gaming","gaming",82,"2026-10-20T18:45:39.000Z
"Reviews","reviews",38,"2026-10-20T12:00:00.000Z
"How-To","how-to",8,"2026-10-05T09:00:00.000Z"]
