Apple is about to have its busiest month in years, and most of it is happening behind closed doors.
On October 23, Apple ships the iPhone Duo, its first foldable phone, with preorders opening October 16 at 5 a.m. Pacific. The phone launches with iOS 27.1, while a separate iOS 27.2 update - already in beta - adds five more languages for Apple's Siri AI features sometime later in the month. Apple is also expanding the Mac Studio line it just refreshed last week, adding a maxed-out configuration with an M5 Ultra chip and 512GB of RAM in late October. Beyond those confirmed dates, as many as six more products are rumored for the month, including a redesigned iPad mini, a new Apple TV 4K, and Apple's first dedicated smart home hub.
The real story here isn't the foldable phone - it's the smart home hub. Rumors describe a 6-to-7-inch touchscreen device running new software reportedly called homeOS, in tabletop and wall-mounted versions, putting Apple years behind Amazon's Echo Show and Google's Nest Hub in a category it has mostly ignored. Pair that with a refreshed HomePod mini and Apple TV, both reportedly gaining Apple's own N1 Wi-Fi 7 chip, and the pattern looks like Apple finally building a real home ecosystem instead of a scattered lineup.
Worth noting: only the iPhone Duo, its software, and the Mac Studio configuration carry actual dates. Everything else on this list is speculation until Apple says otherwise.
