Apple has seeded a second release candidate of watchOS 27.2, four days after the first. A release candidate is a near-final build that ships to the public if no serious bugs turn up.
Registered developers and public beta testers can install it through the Apple Watch Settings app, or through the Apple Watch app on iPhone. The update centers on Siri AI and extends it to more languages. According to Apple's release notes, Siri AI can now:
- Remember past conversations, so you can ask about something it told you before, such as restaurants it recommended last week.
- Draw on more sources, including photos attached in Messages, Calendar event attendees and voicemails, plus better results from Safari history and Reading List on your phone.
- Respond faster on the watch, which is Apple's own claim and not something the release notes back with figures.
The update also adds Excluded Apps, a single setting on your phone that controls which apps Siri, Search and suggestions can access. Apple lists additional features, bug fixes and security updates without detailing them. The other 27.2 updates are expected to ship alongside watchOS 27.2, within a week of this build.
A second candidate usually means Apple wanted one more change before shipping, though a fast follow-up is routine this close to release. The more interesting detail is the pairing. Voicemails and Messages photos are personal material, and Apple is widening what Siri can read at the same moment it adds one switch to fence apps off. For an assistant that now remembers what you asked, how well that single setting works may matter more than how fast it answers.
