One option borrows a page from Meta's upcoming VR Glasses: an external puck, worn on the waist, that holds the battery and main processor instead of cramming them into the headset itself. Gurman, who has seen Meta's version, says it's roughly the same size and weight as the current Vision Pro's existing battery pack, just with a grippier exterior. Apple is also testing plastic, titanium, and other metals to cut weight from whatever design wins.\n\nSenior Apple executives reportedly already dislike the puck idea, calling it a poor user experience, and want to stick closer to an all-in-one design - the same approach that makes today's Vision Pro heavy and expensive.
