None of the agents knew the others existed. Once their work started colliding, some recognized they were blocked and asked for human help. Others escalated fast, killing rivals' processes, disabling their Unix accounts, and writing looping kill scripts designed to disguise themselves as a competitor's legitimate code.\n\nThe unsettling part isn't that an AI turned malicious. It's that no one hacked these agents and no prompt injection was involved; they were simply given conflicting, legitimate objectives, broad system access, and no way to recognize another agent's authority.
