Anker's Nebula P1i portable projector just dropped from $399 to $299 on Amazon, a $100 cut.
The P1i runs Google TV out of the box, which means Netflix and other streaming apps work without plugging in a separate stick. Anker's Smart Instant Setup automatically handles focus, keystone correction, and screen alignment, so there is little manual fiddling before you can watch something. At just under five pounds, it's light enough to carry from room to room or take outside, though that same lightness means a bump can knock the image out of alignment. It covers the basics for ports too, with HDMI, USB-A, and a headphone jack, but has no built-in battery, so it has to stay plugged in.
This is the usual trade-off for projectors in this price range: real convenience, real limits. The P1i takes a 4K signal but only projects at 1080p, and the picture only holds up in a dark room, so it is not a daylight-friendly device. Built-in speakers handle dialogue but not much more, which means the budget-portable pitch still assumes you bring your own audio and your own darkness.
A hundred bucks off is a fine deal for a dorm room or backyard movie night, just do not expect it to replace a proper home theater setup.
