The Kindle Colorsoft gets the deepest cut, dropping $90 to $160 — a 36% discount aimed at readers who want color e-ink for comics, manga, or magazines. The Paperwhite Signature Edition, the standard recommendation for most readers, lands at $145, about 27.5% off its $200 list price. The Kindle Scribe, Amazon's stylus-equipped note-taking hybrid, is 24% off at $380. The base Kindle rounds out the lineup at $85, down roughly 23%. Amazon's own marketing describes the sale as "at least 30% off," a claim that holds for the Colorsoft but not for the Paperwhite SE, the Scribe, or the standard Kindle.
The Colorsoft's aggressive pricing signals that Amazon is pushing hard to convert color e-ink skeptics before rivals — Kobo chief among them — gain more ground in that niche.
