Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days book sale wrapped up Tuesday night, and the discounts were real but uneven.
The two-day event ran through 11:59 p.m. PT on Oct. 7 and covered more than two dozen titles across ebooks, physical books, and cookbooks. The steepest cut was Madeline Miller's 'Circe' ebook, which dropped to $2.99 from $33. Other categories moved less: Ali Hazelwood's 'The Love Hypothesis' collector's edition sold for $12.81, and Alison Roman's cookbook 'Something from Nothing' went for $17.14. Kindle ebooks mostly landed under $4, while hardcover fiction and cookbooks settled in the $7 to $17 range.
The spread is a reminder that 'Prime Day book deals' bundles together several different discount tiers, not one flat sale. Ebooks got marked down hardest; collector's editions and cookbooks held onto more of their list price even during the promotion.
Target ran a competing buy-two-get-one-free book deal over the same window, which may have been the better move for anyone buying more than one physical copy.
