Standouts right now include a 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 Max chip, 36GB of RAM, and a 2TB SSD for $3,499, down $600 from its $4,099 list price. Also on sale: Apple AirPods 4 at $99 (down $30), the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus at $37.99 (down $32), and Garmin's vivoactive 6 smartwatch at $229.99 (down $70). Amazon's own Fire HD tablets and Ember-series Fire TVs are discounted by as much as 53%.\n\nThe timing matters because gadget prices have climbed all year due to the ongoing memory crisis, so a real $600 cut on a MacBook Pro means more than it would in a normal year. Amazon's past MacBook Pro discounts topped out around $400 off. Walmart and Target are also running their own October sales this week, so Amazon isn't the only place to look.\n\nCase in point: those $99 AirPods 4 were already selling for the same price at Walmart before Prime Big Deal Days even started.","[\"prime-day\",\"amazon\",\"deals\",\"gadgets\"]","2026-10-04T09:19:20.000Z","2026-10-06T03:18:34.183Z","2026-10-06T03:18:39.919Z","published",null,[24],{"id":25,"reviewer":26,"round":27,"reason":28,"status":29},"editor-r1","editor",1,"Today is October 6, the first day of the sale itself, so framing these as 'early' deals 'ahead of October 6-7' is now factually stale — rewrite the lede\u002Fdek to reflect that Prime Big Deal Days has already started rather than describing pre-event deals.","resolved","deals",[32,33,30,34],"prime-day","amazon","gadgets",[36],{"name":37,"url":38},"Mashable","https:\u002F\u002Fmashable.com\u002Ftech\u002Fbest-early-october-prime-day-tech-deals-2026",0,{"sections":41},[42,47,52,57,61,66,70,75,80,85,90,95,100,105],{"name":43,"slug":44,"count":45,"latest_published_at":46},"AI","ai",6323,"2026-10-05T12:38:10.000Z",{"name":48,"slug":49,"count":50,"latest_published_at":51},"Security","security",871,"2026-10-05T04:00:00.000Z",{"name":53,"slug":54,"count":55,"latest_published_at":56},"Policy","policy",446,"2026-10-05T10:25:00.000Z",{"name":58,"slug":30,"count":59,"latest_published_at":60},"Deals",347,"2026-10-05T13:01:00.000Z",{"name":62,"slug":63,"count":64,"latest_published_at":65},"Hardware","hardware",206,"2026-10-05T11:35:00.000Z",{"name":67,"slug":68,"count":69,"latest_published_at":51},"Science","science",179,{"name":71,"slug":72,"count":73,"latest_published_at":74},"Consumer Tech","consumer-tech",160,"2026-10-05T10:23:15.000Z",{"name":76,"slug":77,"count":78,"latest_published_at":79},"Dev Tools","dev-tools",99,"2026-10-05T10:47:06.000Z",{"name":81,"slug":82,"count":83,"latest_published_at":84},"Software","software",97,"2026-10-04T10:00:00.000Z",{"name":86,"slug":87,"count":88,"latest_published_at":89},"Startups","startups",93,"2026-10-05T11:13:51.000Z",{"name":91,"slug":92,"count":93,"latest_published_at":94},"Gaming","gaming",53,"2026-10-02T02:50:39.000Z",{"name":96,"slug":97,"count":98,"latest_published_at":99},"General","general",51,"2026-10-05T02:35:01.000Z",{"name":101,"slug":102,"count":103,"latest_published_at":104},"Reviews","reviews",33,"2026-10-05T11:57:17.000Z",{"name":106,"slug":107,"count":108,"latest_published_at":109},"How-To","how-to",8,"2026-10-05T09:00:00.000Z"]
