Amazon is sweetening eight Echo device discounts with a free $30 credit ahead of its October Prime Day sale.
Through October 7, eight Echo speakers and displays are discounted and come bundled with a $30 Amazon credit good toward any future purchase, provided you are a Prime member. The lineup spans the $54.99 Echo Spot up to the $349.99 Echo Show 21, with three models - the Echo Show 8, Show 11, and Show 15 - hitting all-time-low prices. The credit is capped at one per person, and you have to claim it manually on Amazon's "Devices with Alexa+" page rather than having it applied automatically. Availability looks spotty: some shoppers can see the offer on their accounts and others cannot.
The timing matters because Amazon raised prices on most Echo devices by as much as $100 this summer, citing the ongoing memory-chip shortage. A $30 credit does not undo that increase, but it is a real sweetener layered on top of already-discounted hardware, and it nudges buyers toward Alexa+, the AI assistant Amazon wants more Prime members actively using.
Call it a hardware discount with a side of assistant adoption - Amazon would rather you redeem that credit inside its own ecosystem than pocket the savings and move on.
