The Fire 7 Kids tablet is the clear standout, dropping to $54.99 - a genuine 50% cut from its $109.99 list price. It includes a year of Amazon Kids+, parental controls, and a 10-hour battery. Beyond that, the early deals lean heavily on "like-new" bundles: a Fire HD 10 paired with a stylus for $149.98 (saving $7 off the bundle price) and a Fire Max 11 with stylus for $229.98 (saving $7). Those are bundle discounts, not device discounts.
The bundle structure matters because the savings evaporate if you don't want the stylus. Amazon is effectively moving accessory inventory alongside its tablets rather than cutting prices outright. For buyers who do want a stylus, the Fire HD 10 bundle is the more defensible pick - it's a capable everyday tablet at a reasonable price point regardless of Prime Day.
Expect deeper cuts as the main event approaches. Amazon has a reliable habit of steepening discounts on its own hardware the closer a Prime Day sale gets to its peak - so holding out a few days may be worth it unless the Kids tablet price is already right for you.
