Amazon's fall Prime Day is still a week out, but some of the better deals are already live.
Prime Big Deal Days runs Oct. 6-7, with Target and Walmart running competing sales the same week. Ahead of that, Amazon has already discounted headphones, earbuds, a smart speaker and a TV, including Bose QuietComfort headphones for $319, Apple AirPods Pro 3 for $234, an Echo Dot for $39.99, and a 65-inch Hisense Mini-LED TV for $847.99. Pricing is moving fast and inconsistently: Fire TV Sticks were heavily discounted last week and are already back to full price, while Kindles and most other Echo devices have not dropped at all yet.
The timing matters because Amazon spent the summer raising prices on nearly two dozen Kindles, Fire TV Sticks, Echo speakers and eero routers, citing higher component costs. That means part of this event is Amazon undoing markups it created a few months ago, not simply passing along fresh savings. Apple shoppers in particular may want to hold off, since deeper cuts on Apple products are expected once the sale officially starts.
Treat "early Prime Day" pricing as a preview, not a floor - the real test is Oct. 6, when Target and Walmart start undercutting Amazon too.
