That undercuts Amazon's own $179 price on the AirPods Pro 3, the current model and two generations newer, which adds better noise cancellation and a USB-C case. Walmart has been running a parallel push this Prime Day, pricing the newer AirPods 4 at $79, still the cheapest AirPods available anywhere.\n\nThis markdown matters less for the bargain itself and more for what it says about Apple's clearance priorities. Steep discounts on AirPods are routine, and non-Pro models have dipped below $100 before; Walmart's $79 AirPods 4 is proof. But Apple rarely lets a Pro-tier earbud slide this close to that floor, which suggests leftover first-generation stock needs to move before shoppers fully shift to the Pro 3.\n\nEither way, nobody's paying full price for AirPods this week, which is the detail Apple's marketing will not be highlighting.","[\"airpods\",\"apple\",\"deals\",\"prime-day\"]","2026-10-06T09:22:23.000Z","2026-10-06T17:25:15.721Z","2026-10-06T17:25:21.747Z","published",null,[24],{"id":25,"reviewer":26,"round":27,"reason":28,"status":29},"editor-r1","editor",1,"Fix two internal inconsistencies: the claim that 'Apple rarely lets any AirPods model slip under $100' is contradicted by the same article's $79 Walmart AirPods 4 price, and first-gen AirPods Pro is only two generations behind the current AirPods Pro 3, not three.","resolved","deals",[32,33,30,34],"airpods","apple","prime-day",[36],{"name":37,"url":38},"Mashable","https:\u002F\u002Fmashable.com\u002Ftech\u002Foct-6-october-prime-day-apple-airpods-pro-deal",0,{"sections":41},[42,47,52,57,61,66,71,76,81,86,91,96,101,106],{"name":43,"slug":44,"count":45,"latest_published_at":46},"AI","ai",6348,"2026-10-06T10:48:08.000Z",{"name":48,"slug":49,"count":50,"latest_published_at":51},"Security","security",881,"2026-10-06T09:51:14.000Z",{"name":53,"slug":54,"count":55,"latest_published_at":56},"Policy","policy",466,"2026-10-06T10:31:52.000Z",{"name":58,"slug":30,"count":59,"latest_published_at":60},"Deals",383,"2026-10-06T11:15:20.000Z",{"name":62,"slug":63,"count":64,"latest_published_at":65},"Hardware","hardware",212,"2026-10-06T11:04:25.000Z",{"name":67,"slug":68,"count":69,"latest_published_at":70},"Science","science",183,"2026-10-06T09:48:46.000Z",{"name":72,"slug":73,"count":74,"latest_published_at":75},"Consumer Tech","consumer-tech",162,"2026-10-06T09:00:14.000Z",{"name":77,"slug":78,"count":79,"latest_published_at":80},"Software","software",105,"2026-10-06T10:27:47.000Z",{"name":82,"slug":83,"count":84,"latest_published_at":85},"Dev Tools","dev-tools",99,"2026-10-05T10:47:06.000Z",{"name":87,"slug":88,"count":89,"latest_published_at":90},"Startups","startups",96,"2026-10-05T20:24:09.000Z",{"name":92,"slug":93,"count":94,"latest_published_at":95},"Gaming","gaming",54,"2026-10-05T19:07:04.000Z",{"name":97,"slug":98,"count":99,"latest_published_at":100},"General","general",53,"2026-10-05T22:05:42.000Z",{"name":102,"slug":103,"count":104,"latest_published_at":105},"Reviews","reviews",33,"2026-10-05T11:57:17.000Z",{"name":107,"slug":108,"count":109,"latest_published_at":110},"How-To","how-to",8,"2026-10-05T09:00:00.000Z"]
