Apple's AirTag 2 1-pack is $23 on Amazon, down from $29, and it is the lowest price the tracker has hit there.
The $6 cut works out to about 21% off. The 4-pack is also marked down, from $99 to $89, a $10 reduction of roughly 10%. Best Buy matches both prices, so the discount is not an Amazon exclusive.
The per-tag math is where it gets interesting. At $89, each tag in the 4-pack costs $22.25, which is 75 cents less than the single at $23. Four 1-packs would run $92, so the multipack saves $3 over buying singles at the sale price. The single got the deeper percentage cut, which narrows the case for buying in bulk.
The AirTag 2 carries a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip. Ultra Wideband is a short-range radio technology that measures distance and direction, which is how an iPhone can point you toward a lost item instead of just dropping a pin on a map. Apple says the chip lets Precision Finding work up to 50% farther away than on the previous-generation AirTag. That is the company's own figure, and the source offers no independent testing.
A $6 discount will not change anyone's budget. It mostly rewards people who were already planning to buy, and the thin multipack savings suggest the number of tags you need should drive the choice, not the sticker. The longer Precision Finding range is the more useful upgrade for anyone who loses things in large spaces like parking lots, and the least relevant for keys that go missing between couch cushions.
