Amazon just dropped the AirPods Pro 3 to $179, their lowest price since June.
The earbuds, normally $249, are on sale for $179 at Amazon as part of an October Prime Day push, and other retailers are expected to match the price soon. That's the first dip below $190 since Prime Day in June. The Pro 3 ship with five ear tip sizes, live translation, and noise-canceling performance strong enough to earn a positive review from The Verge. Apple has not touched the price itself; this is a retailer discount, not a markdown from Cupertino.
The timing matters because Apple's cheaper AirPods 5 launched this year starting at $149.99 for the wireless-charging-case version, giving budget shoppers an obvious alternative. At $179, the Pro 3 now costs just $30 more than that top AirPods 5 configuration, which weakens the case for going cheaper unless you specifically want earbuds that skip the silicone ear seal.
A temporary Amazon discount isn't a trend line. Expect the price to creep back toward $249 once Prime Day traffic dies down, so this is a buy-now-not-later situation rather than evidence of a permanent shift in AirPods pricing.
