It pairs with CytoMap, an interpretability module that highlights the specific cells driving each prediction. Across 10 biomarker tasks covering morphological, molecular, genetic, and spatial-transcriptomic-proxy readouts, Hireca ranked first in five and outperformed comparable models in aggregate. Eight pathologists from two countries evaluated CytoMap against competing visualization methods and preferred it consistently.\n\nThe meaningful advance here is not raw accuracy — plenty of AI pathology models claim that — but reviewability. The spatial-transcriptomic-proxy capability is also notable: inferring gene-expression-level signals from a cheap hematoxylin-and-eosin stain would sidestep sequencing costs that currently make broad screening impractical.\n\nPathology AI has been \"about to transform diagnostics\" for roughly a decade; the graveyard of promising models that never cleared clinical translation is long.
