The result, per the paper's benchmarks, is better depth accuracy and steadier camera-pose estimates on long sequences, plus reconstruction speeds fast enough for streaming use.\n\nLong-sequence 3D reconstruction has been stuck choosing between accuracy and memory: full attention across a whole video captures everything but does not scale, while cheaper local methods drift over time.
